Outage ID#:   35

Outage Type:   Fault

Region:   Australia Wide

Service:   ADSL

Starts at:   17/02/2008 10:00 PM     Ends at (ETA):   21/02/2008 12:00 PM

Description:

Dear Customers,

There has been an ongoing disruption to a small number of ADSL customers since the power outage to our upstream providers Sydney POP on the weekend. A particular LNS in their network is failing to deliver packets for those customers unlucky enough to be connected to it.

A fault has been lodged upstream and we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Resolution:

Upstream reports they have found and resolved the issue. Please report any further issues with connectivity to support as soon as possible.

Update @ 19/02/2008 10:16 PM:

We have blackholed traffic to the affected upstream LNS. This LNS is failing to deliver packets to customers that are over 1440 bytes, causing a disruption to internet access for any web site that decides to send a packet that large. This should hopefully flip all customers back over onto unaffected equipment.

Update @ 20/02/2008 02:34 PM:

There still appears to be some issues with another LNS on our upstream providers network. We are continuing to work with them to get the issue resolved. If you have having issues connecting to some sites, keep reconnecting and you should eventually hit an LNS that is working properly. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
